For 2000 years, Jewish women have been immersing in the mikveh before their wedding. This ceremony has been shared by Jewish women of all origins and throughout the generations.

Though the nature of the ceremony varies from one community to the next, its essence remains the same:

Marking the transformation from singlehood into marriage and family life.

Immersing in the mikveh is an act of purification, meant to prepare both body and soul to the holy bond of matrimony.

According to the Jewish Halacha, a woman who immerses in the mikveh throughout the marriage, will also enjoy fertility.

Since ancient times and to this day, the bride’s family members prepare a unique package of items for the mikveh. These items are given to her for the purifying and holy ceremony. In it, they usually include beautiful soaps, goldthread embroidered towel, a bejeweled comb and more.

All items that assist through the immersing process itself, but also enrich the process and elevate it into a pleasant and joyful experience.
